NOTICE: New developments of use of our building regarding worship and this Sunday’s Spoken Word Service with link

Dear members and friends of Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church  –  

Per Summit County Health Department order, Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church as well as all churches in Summit County have been ordered to close their facilities.  We have done likewise.  Therefore no gatherings will be permitted in our building.  The order will be reviewed by the Summit County Health Department on or about March 29th, but for now per the order our building will be closed until April 16th.  

For now, we have cancelled worship services on March 22nd and 29th, we will offer an online worship service at 10:00 am on those Sundays.   Please see Zoom link to join on Sunday.  We have also cancelled Wednesday Lenten services on March 18th and 25th.   After Summit County Health Department reviews this order on March 29th, we will determine how we will move forward with worship services.   Let us pray that the order will be revised allowing us to celebrate Holy Week at our facility.

I trust that you will take care of yourselves.  Take sensible precautions.  We are all concerned about the most vulnerable among us.  Please contact me if you are in need.  Together we can be in conversation on the phone or, if possible and safe for you, can arrange ways that we can accompany each other.

Is there good news in all this?  Yes.  Christ is present in our lives.  As members of the Body of Christ, and, yes, as family, with the power of the Holy Spirit we will continue to love, support, and care for each other, our families, our friends, and the people of our communities.
